I have Windows 7 Ultimate running on a 32bit platform. I just bought a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic SB0460 Audio Card. I have been having trouble using Windows Media Player 12 with it. Before I start using the Media Player I started up my Windows Task Manager and selected the Performance Tab to monitor the processor, then started the Media Player 12 and noticed that the CPU Usage slams up to 100% and stays there (Freezes Up) for at least 6 minutes WHILE PLAYING THE MUSIC I SELECTED before it came down to 10-29%.

I called Creative Labs Tech Support and installed the card to their specifications:

1. Disable the onboard sound card VIA BIOS upon startup (F2)
2. Uninstalled X-FI Driver VIA DEVICE MANAGER w/right click and UNINSTALL
3. Select the CHECK BOX to completely remove
4. Downloaded the current driver for Windows 7 from Creative Labs website for the SB0460 and saved it on the desktop
5. Shut PC and removed soundcard for 20 seconds.
6. Reinserted the soundcard and started PC
7. Installed Latest Driver for Windows 7 from Creative Labs website for the SB0460 that I saved on the desktop previously

I am still having problems with the CPU running 100% for at least 6 minutes when I play a song using Windows Media Player 12. I even UPDATED the BIOS from my PC manufacture website and the same thing.

I decided to try a different media player and used Real Player and my CPU is running at 18 - 32%. I love the sound of the card and love the way Media Player 12 is set up for me to select the music I want to play so easily but, I am having issues.
