The pro version also comes with a better search and some additional features as well.

JStock

JStock is a huge stock market app with a ton of information. This one supports 28 world stock markets, 10 years of chart history, and even more features for the U.S. stock market. In addition, you can manage your portfolio and dividends. It even comes with a widget. This may be a little much for weekend traders or beginners. However, we couldn’t find a lot of other stock market apps with as much information as this one. The UI is a little old, but it’s perfectly functional. The free version has all of the features along with ads. You can remove the ads for $3.99 per month if you want to.

Investing.com

Price: Free / $1.99 per month / $19.99 per year

Investing.com is a large source of stock market information, news, and prices. It boasts over 100,000 institutions across 70 global markets. That makes it among the largest stock market apps of its kind. The news is either from Investing itself or from Reuters. Additionally, you can manage your portfolio, check out cryptocurrency prices, and do some other stuff. The UI is a little simple for how much information it has. It’s otherwise a solid option. The free version comes with ads. You also have to create an account to get some of the features. The premium version removes ads and it’s honestly not that expensive.

MSN Money

MSN Money is a perfectly serviceable app for stock market aficionados. It’s basically a huge news aggregation service for a variety of other sites. They have articles from Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC, Forbes, Market Watch, and many other publications. Additionally, it has a host of tools, calculators, and information for traders. It even works with cryptocurrency and commodity prices like oil or gold. The app is entirely free with no subscriptions. There are some ads, though. This one is an easy yes from us, even if the UI is a little rough around the edges.

My Stocks Portfolio is a simple, but powerful stock trading app. This one lets you create and manage portfolios, view stock market prices, and get real-time stock quotes. It works and does the stuff the app description says it does. This one is a bit expensive at $15.99 for the premium version. However, that is a one time payment and it’ll save you money over subscription options over time.

StockTwits

StockTwits is one of the newer stock market apps, comparatively speaking. This one has a lot of information and the design chops to match. On top of its very competent Material Design, the app includes an earnings statement calendar, a real-time feed of stock prices, direct integration with Robinhood (if you use that service), cryptocurrency information, and even curated lists of potential investment opportunities. There is also a chat in case you want to talk it up with other investors. This is another one with basically nothing wrong with it. It’s also completely free to use.

Webull

Webull is kind of a hybrid stock market app. It’s an investment service like Robinhood, eTrader, etc. However, you can use the app even if you don’t use Webull as an investment service. The app contains real-time stock prices, portfolio management options, and a news feed for Reuters, Bloomberg, CNBC, and other financial publications. You also get some nice touches like a day and night theme and some other stuff. Really, you can find this stuff in other apps without the suggestive sell of opening a Webull account. However, those looking for a two-birds-one-stone kind of scenario may want to check this out.

Yahoo Finance

Yahoo Finance is a fairly powerful app for stock market stuff. It covers three major use cases. You can view and keep track of various stock prices in your portfolio. The app also has a bunch of business and finance news to read. The app also lets you track currencies, commodities, and all kinds of other information. Finally, you can log in with your brokerage account and actually trade stocks. That makes it a great all-in-one solution for all the major needs of a stock trader. It’s a little bulky and buggy, but there are no serious issues. The app has ads, but it is otherwise free to use.

However, in general, we recommend something like MSN Money or Feedly because they aggregate most of these sites into a single feed. Still, those who like a specific site more than the rest may want to try its specific app.

Of course, you can always download stock trader apps as well. There are a variety of large companies that let you trade stocks. They include Robinhood, E-Trade, Ameritrade, Fidelity Investments, and others. These apps let you actually trade stocks and then usually view stock prices and information like that in real time. These differ from others on the list because you kind of have to trade through one of these companies to make full use of its app. However, they are all built to do that exact thing, so it’s not a bad trade-off. It’s a good, solid option for tracking prices, currency exchange rates, and stock prices throughout the day. They are also both excellent apps for those who want to be in the know when it comes to other financial things. They both also have decent, simple designs and tons of information. The apps are free with advertising. There is an optional subscription that removes the ads.

JStock

JStock isn’t the most popular, but it’s still one of the more solid investment apps. It supports 28 different stock markets, features to analyze your stocks, and even a charted history dating back ten years so you can check stock histories. Of course, you also get options to manage your portfolio and dividends as well. If you go premium, you’ll get cloud storage integration, unlocked features, and unlimited amounts of some features from the free version. There is also a news section if you want to keep up on the latest news. It’s definitely worth a shot.

M1 Finance

M1 Finance is about as simple of an investment app as we’ve seen. You simply input your portfolio and the company itself manages everything. You can do things like set automatic deposits, review all of your portfolio’s statistics, and even transfer stuff like 401Ks and IRAs. Some other features include a loan service, stats about various stock prices, retirement planning, SPIC insurance, and more. It also boasts no extra fees or commissions on the money you make. Of course, you are dealing with investments so there is a chance you could lose your money as well as make a lot more. That’s just the risk you run with stuff like this. However, this app is actually really good aside from the occasional crash or bug.

MyStocks

Price: Free / $4.99

MyStocks is one of the more recently released investment apps. It offers a plethora of features, including real time quotes and charts of stocks, funds, ETFs, currency exchanges, futures, and more. You can also have it alert you if a certain stock reaches a certain price for better or for worse. They charge a 0.25% per year fee with no trading fees. That may be a good deal for some people.
